Our history
The history of our business begins way back in 1956 , when Lina Savini , a woman with a strong entrepreneurial mentality, took over a tavern and food shop in Samoggia di Savigno, a small town in the province of Bologna. In an era where women were often dependent on men, Lina stood out for her determination and entrepreneurial spirit.
The tavern is the meeting place for the men of the town, who gather there in the evening to play cards, smoke and enjoy a drink. The shop's clientele, however, overwhelmingly includes women, who shop there during the day. In an era of widespread poverty, it is common for expenses to be written down in a notebook, with the hope that the bills can be paid at a more favorable time.
The tavern, in addition to offering a place for leisure and socialization, offers dishes cooked according to local tradition, becoming a point of reference for the authentic flavors of the area.
In the 70s , Trattoria Lina was born, an extension of the original business. Subsequently, the business is managed with passion by Lina's daughter, Graziana . Graziana kept all the activities open for a long period, but then concentrated on managing the restaurant. During his direction, the restaurant's menu was enriched with new proposals, whilst maintaining the local culinary tradition.
In the 90s , Stefano , Lina's nephew and Graziana's son, joined the team. A passionate truffle connoisseur, Stefano brings a breath of fresh air to the family business by introducing this delicious local product. The business is experiencing growing success, attracting more and more customers eager to taste local delicacies.
In 2023 , the idea was born to further expand the business, including the sale of traditional artisan foods and local products, including truffles and mushrooms. This is how the Lina flavors and delights brand was born. In 2024 , this vision becomes reality with the start of online sales , allowing Trattoria Lina to reach an even wider audience and make its products known outside the country's borders.
Through generations of determined and passionate entrepreneurs, our business has grown, adapting to the changes of the times and always keeping alive the spirit of authenticity and Italian culinary tradition.
