Colorful Crostini with Red Sauce, Olives and Capers (VEGAN Recipe)

Ingredients

sliced homemade bread (about 1 cm thick)

1 jar of Lina's red artisan sauce by Lina Sapori e Delizie

pitted black olives (sliced or halved)

capers in salt (desalted under running water)

extra virgin olive oil

dried oregano (optional)

Preparation

  1. Lightly toast the bread slices on a grill, in the oven or in a pan until golden and crispy
  2. If you prefer the sauce warm, heat it gently in a pan over low heat
  3. Arrange the toasted bread slices on a serving plate
  4. Spread the red sauce generously on each slice of bread
  5. sprinkle the chopped black olives and desalted capers on the red sauce
  6. season with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and, if you like, a sprinkling of dried oregano
  7. Serve the crostini immediately to appreciate the contrast between the crunchy bread and the tasty sauce.

Advice

  1. You can rub a clove of garlic on the toasted bread slices before adding the sauce for a more intense flavor.
  2. Chopped fresh basil or parsley can add a touch of freshness to the preparation
  3. a small flake of pecorino romano or diced feta can further enrich the flavor.
