Tasty crostini with friggione, mozzarella and fresh basil

Ingredients
- sliced homemade bread (about 1 cm thick)
- 1 jar of artisanal Bolognese friggione Lina Sapori e Delizie
- fresh mozzarella (fior di latte or buffalo mozzarella)
- fresh basil to taste
- extra virgin olive oil to taste
- salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
- lightly toast the bread slices on a grill, in the oven, or in a pan until golden and crispy
- if you prefer warm friggione, gently heat it in a pan over low heat or in a double boiler
- arrange the toasted bread slices on a serving plate
- generously spread the friggione on each slice of bread
- slice the mozzarella thinly and arrange it on top of the friggione
- drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt (if needed, the friggione might already be seasoned), and a grind of black pepper
- decorate with fresh basil leaves
- serve the crostini immediately to best enjoy the contrast between the warm (or lukewarm) bread, the flavorful friggione, and the fresh mozzarella.
Tips
- for a more indulgent touch, you can put the crostini in a hot oven for a few minutes until the mozzarella melts and is slightly golden
- if you like, you can rub a garlic clove on the toasted bread slices before adding the friggione.
Enjoy your meal!
